After years of faithful service in different children homes in Seoul, Jerusalem Ministry is now establishing the “Seeds of Hope Scholarship” for children who graduate from the homes and desire to attend university.  This scholarship will provide both a monthly stipend and a mentoring program for the recipients.

The children raised in the homes of Korea are well taken care of as they grow up.  But once they graduate from high school they are officially adults and have to leave the homes.  The government gives them some money, but it is nowhere near enough to live on and the children tend to have to get jobs right away.  Attending university is difficult for the children both financially and emotionally.  Because of the lack of mentors, the children struggle to believe in themselves and tend to give up on their dreams.  Money is also a struggle because the children have to work through university, putting them at a disadvantage to the other students.  The children need both financial support and committed mentors in their lives. 

All proceeds from Sweet Spring Benefit Concert will go towards the scholarship fund for the children.  Applications for the Seeds of Hope Scholarship will be distributed among the homes and the children who are at the greatest need will be accepted.  Our goal is raise $18,000 in order to provide three children with $500 a month scholarships for a year.  While the amount is small, this is only the beginning.  And the monthly mentoring the children will receive through this scholarship will be far more valuable than any amount of money.  While the initial seeds of the scholarship may seem small, we know that through them will sprout and grow the dreams of the children and release hope for more and more of them.

Venue: Jangcheon Art Hall in Apgujeong

SUBWAY: Go out exit five of Apgujeong Station (line 3) and turn left into the third alleyway (after passing a Hyundai gas station).  Pass two small roads and Jangcheon Art Hall will be on your left at the next intersection.  It is a 5 – 10 minute walk.  

BUS: The following buses will take you to Apgujeong station…

Blue Buses:  143, 240, 361, 362, 472
Green Buses:  3422, 4312, 4318, 4419, 8431

DRIVING: The parking lot is separate from the art hall and is located in 광림교회.  We will have ushers outside the art hall who can guide you there if you are driving.  For your navigation type: “Jangcheon Art Hall” or “장천아트홀.”  The address of the art hall is 571-2 Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.  The church is close by.
